Mars-Saturn Union at Virgo New Moon of Aug. 25, 2014
Dateline: Sunday Sept. 28, 2014...I had wanted to write this short article about a week or two after the New Moon of August 25, 2014 happened with the Sun and Moon energizing 3 degrees of Virgo (a sign connected strongly with crisis and crisis management). However, the importance of this New Moon concerned the nearly simultaneous occurrence of a fairly rare Mars-Saturn conjunction (activating 18 degrees of Scorpio). Meetings in the zodiac between the red planet Mars (traditionally associated, when negative, with war and bloodshed) and the beautiful ringed planet Saturn (traditionally associated, when negative, with fear and death) only happen around every two years, but the places on Earth where they are mutually rising, setting, below or above can receive quite a jolt.
When I created the astro-locational world map for the exact time of the Mars-Saturn union, I saw that these two planetary bodies were overhead in Syria and Eastern Ukraine -- the precise areas on Earth where the terrorist group ISIS was fanning the flames of horror, and where rebels in Ukraine, aligning with Russia, were continuing their violent upheavals among a highly scared populace. [Note: If you left-click on the map above, you will see the Mars-Saturn Midheaven or Overhead line running through Syria, Turkey, and Eastern Ukraine. By the way, the line goes almost precisely through Moscow!]
While a New Moon usually only carries an influence for about 30 days, the Mars-Saturn conjunction can remain influential until the next rendezvous occurs (which will be on August 24, 2016 at 10 degrees of Sagittarius). However, the next Mars-Saturn opposition needs to be carefully watched as well and that will take place on May 14, 2015 -- energizing 2+ degrees of Gemini (the Mars placement) and 2+ degrees of Sagittarius (the Saturn placement). This Mars-Saturn polarity -- tugging on the Earth from opposite points -- will synchronize with Israel's annual Solar Return (as Israel came into being as a nation on May 14, 1948). Plus, when Mars and Saturn oppose each other on May 14, 2015 they will almost precisely square the Virgo New Moon placement at 2+ degrees of Virgo from this past August 25, 2014 that started the entire Mars-Saturn cycle in the first place.
