Felix Hernandez Throws First Perfect Game in Mariner History!
Dateline Wednesday August 15, 2012: At Safeco Field in Seattle this afternoon, ace pitcher Felix Hernandez threw the first perfect game in Mariner history. He did it with an exclamation point -- striking out the last batter who faced him, giving him 12 strikeouts on the day.
He is 26-year-old and has been throwing some amazing shutouts over the last 10 games -- including a two-hitter, at Yankee Stadium, in the last week. His record this year is 11 - 5 and, ironically for someone 26 years of age, his terrific ERA this season is 2.60.
He won the Cy Young Award two years ago as the best pitcher in the American League.
This is the third perfect game this season -- the most of any season, and this "perfecto" follows those by Phillip Humber of the Chicago White Sox (thrown against these same Mariners in April) and Matt Cain of the San Francisco Giants who won his amazing game at home while the Giants were playing the hapless Houston Astros.
Meanwhile, Felix's Solar Chart is presented below and the overwhelming key to the perfect game is clearly seen when you note the following: He is born with a nearly exact trine of 120-degrees from Pluto in Scorpio to Vesta in Pisces. He is also born with Venus in its home sign of Taurus just one degree past an opposition to Pluto. Today is the one day of 2012 when Venus is opposite Pluto and this Venus-Pluto polarity exactly forms a temporary Grand Trine formation for Felix Hernandez as Venus in Cancer is trine to his Pluto in Scorpio and his Vesta in Pisces
Even though many astrologers would think that a Venus-Pluto opposition at birth is probably more negative than positive, there will be a strong resonance of potential opportunity every year when Venus and Pluto form that same polarity in the sky. And this year's Venus-Pluto polarity made an important and exact contact with his Vesta-Pluto trine at birth. In addition, Venus was making a supportive, 60-degree alliance with his natal Venus.
Very often parallels and contra-parallels are deeply affecting a person's birthchart -- just like transits in the zodiac do -- but because parallels and contra-parallels are (a) a vertical dimension of examining cycles, and (b) they are calculated via the Celestial Equator (rather than via the ecliptic or Sun's apparent path in the sky), therefore these up-and-down alignments are not often utilized -- by even professional astrologers. However, note that today we have Neptune parallel Felix's Vesta, a Venus-Pluto contra-parallel in the sky closely activating his natal Saturn, Saturn forming a contra-parallel to Felix's Sun, and -- most important -- today's Sun is precisely on his natal Venus at 13+ degrees north. This adds a further Venusian dimension to Felix's pitching gem -- a jewel in baseball history that he will surely cherish for the rest of his life.
A lot of sports enthusiasts, particularly those who admire top pitchers, have referred to this pitcher as "King Felix," and with both the Moon and Sun today in regal Leo, Felix Hernandez has certainly lived up to that title.
