America and Islam: A Short Curious Story of Signatures

Note from Publisher: The original draft of this article occurred on December 27, 2009. This completed version was submitted to us on January 8, 2010 and placed on this Earth Aquarius News website on January 13, 2010. There are several footnotes and they are indicated by a number inside parenthesis -- for example (1) -- and then the complete list is at the end of the article. Wayne Moody's very timely and highly illuminating feature begins directly below. Enjoy!
For upwards of eight decades now (1933-2010), American connections to the lands surrounding 50˚ East longitude, the geographic area best know as the Persian Gulf, have evolved to a persistent importance. At its foundation, the Persian Gulf has been ‘Ground Zero’ of an Era of Oil – an era of unequalled dependency by First World countries on resources controlled by Third World countries. On a nationalized note, there has been a dramatic focusing of American blood, treasure, and spirit in the region; particularly, since 1991 when Iraq invaded Kuwait, catalyzing the first U.S./Iraq War. Core elements of American culture, her peoples’ ancestors, their legacies, and her deep roots in Old Testament religion arose from Mesopotamian/Iraqi places like ancient Ur, Babylon, Harran, and Nineveh in the Tigris/Euphrates Delta. Every American has been inculcated or touched in some way by the history of the Gulf region – the most easily recognized being the Garden of Eden, the 60 minute hour and 360 degree circle.
Today’s most critical question – What is the future of these sacred lands? What is America’s relationship to the modern populations contiguous to the 50˚East zone (in Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the western Caspian Sea, and Yemen)? One major development - the First Gulf War – began dramatically under a first quarter Crescent Moon, following a Solar Eclipse (January 15, 1991).
The notion that significant events gather around Eclipse moment (solar & lunar) omens is little regarded today, seen as faulty reasoning - a holdover from ancient times. Times and values have changed, an omen prior to a battle in 331 BCE was received differently by the participants than the same sign is received by today’s commanders and troops. That hinge of history, Alexander the Great’s epic battle with Darius’ Persians at Arbela (Gaugamela), was recorded in the cuneiform tablets Astronomical Diaries of the Enuma Anu Enlil following a lunar eclipse that occurred around September 20, 331 BCE. The Annular Eclipse (January 15, 1991) that began America’s longest war fought in the Gulf repeats again on January 15, 2010. Ironically, 21st Century U.S. troops have fought and died all around the ancient Gaugamela battlefield in Kirkuk and Mosul. As with Alexander’s confrontation with Darius, today’s U.S./Iraqi War will be seen as a hinge of history – a major ‘Significant Moment’.
In light of these documented astrological events, consider the following short astrological/astronomical story that illustrates why the upcoming eclipse omen on January 15, 2010 should be as carefully regarded by today’s decision-makers as ancient leaders considered its precursors.
We enter our story initially focused upon the U.S., a country that has but recently (July 4, 4:47 p.m., 1776, Philadelphia) reached her tipping-point (Campion’s “Significant Moment”), wherein she has manifested the powers of a republic, joining a community of cultures, kingdoms, and nations, most of great antiquity. It was but an ancient exotic illusion that America, representing the ‘New World’, was both noncontiguous and ‘outside’ the continuum with the ‘Old World’ – the figurative mother to ‘all’ of America’s settlers. What separated the old and new worlds were horizons of space and time. The horizon of the vast Atlantic Ocean along with the time required to cross it (weeks to months under the best of conditions) were effective in isolating the two worlds – of course, advancements in communications, energy and transport have erased both space and time as significant barriers today. The world now has achieved gestalt within which to view the American journey.
From almost her first moments as a sovereign nation, the U.S. has had to cultivate a relationship with distant Islamic nations despite the difficulties of gestalt presented by horizon and time – with the first congressional allocation of payment of tribute to Barbary Coast pirates in 1784 – payments of $1 million USD per year for 15 years, to the ultimate start of America’s first long distance war in 1805 (1) and the Ottoman Empire in 1830 when the Islamic state first opened its lands and the Black sea to U.S. trade. Twenty-first Century marines glorify these earliest connections when they sing, “From the Halls of Montezuma…to the shores of Tripoli.” Indeed, our “longest-standing contract in American diplomatic history” was made with the Ruler of Morocco, Sidi Muhammad bin Abdullah – the first Muslim leader to “seek a formal treaty with the young Republic” (1784 “The Ramadan Year of the Hejira 1200”). (2)
With this precedent set in place, it remains to find a way to follow developments of these first U.S. relationships in the Islamic world. Since a continuum has both a forward and a backward direction, we need some method to trace any leads to this event back into the past, as well as forward into the future. There are a million paths that could be taken, but let me use broad strokes and start with the story of Christopher Columbus - a well known name.
We start with Columbus because of his documented connection both to the New World and to historic changes in the Old World. The fall of Constantinople on May 29, 1453, was a Christian/Islamic event that shaped and spurred Columbus’ own life (1451 – 1506) possibilities subsumed within the geopolitical world view of the ‘Old’ Western World. The “Christian Reconquest” (3) (removal of Islam from Spanish lands before the Jubilee year 1500) of Isabella and Ferdinand was completed on January 2, 1492, but the impetus for a ‘New World’ was intensifying under the Ottoman pressures; driving the spirit for an Age of Discovery as European kingdoms, blocked from Mediterranean trade links to the Middle and Far East, sought alternative sea routes. This activity produced an arms/technology/exploration race wherein maps, navigation, and eventually compass, chronometer and other such tools evolved rapidly. These advances in navigation were equally good for astrology and evolved some of its modern applications.
From the perspective of the astrologer (4), ‘Significant Moments’ along the time continuum contain, hidden within them, signatures of great importance and it is to these signatures that we now turn to tell the remainder of this story. Here is astrology’s view of a ‘significant’ American moment, commonly revered as July 4, 1776 from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Add a time of 4:47 p.m. (5) and you get a unique ability to pinpoint the value of every place (as seen in maps) around the Earth from the U.S. perspective. Later in this work, we’ll produce these revealing maps.
A closer look at July 4, 4:47 p.m., 1776, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, reveals some powerful patterns worth emphasizing.
These Y-shaped, over-lapping, patterns are called YODS and the signature parts (planets and angles) that make them up convey insight into the U.S. (Christian) and Islamic relationship throughout the continuum of time. Neptune, ruler of the sign of Pisces, is given correspondence with religion and the association with Pisces (the fish) is one of Christianity’s most beloved parables.
Pressures brought by the Christian/Moslem power struggle in the Mediterranean trace to the founding of the U.S. – literally. Let’s return to Columbus as our broad stroke example. As a staple in any discussion of America’s creation he was a veteran of the Christian/Ottoman struggles of the 15th Century and the chart of his first departure, in search of new safe sea routes to the Indies features Mars (the Ascendant Ruler) at 28˚ Leo 47’, and Uranus at 24˚ Capricorn 01’ opposite the Moon at 18˚ Cancer 18’. In the American birth moment, with Neptune on the 9th House side of the Midheaven, an astrologer would expect to find strong signature ties to Christian spiritual roots; however respective sources like Campion have no real trustworthy documented “Historical Moment” charts for either the Hebrew or Christian religions. If we use what is offered for the “Christian Era” we get a chart purely based upon timekeeping (Christian Calendar) for 00.00 hrs, January 1, 1 AD., with Venus at 25˚ Aquarius 04’. We do, however, have a documented astrological trail with the younger Islam moment. Islam was founded at sunset on July 16, 622, in Medina, now Saudi Arabia. The horoscope of the beginning of the Islamic-Era (6) is below.
Following astrological tradition, the key signatures of this Muslim-Era chart are the Ascendant, Sun, and Moon positions. When these three points are isolated from the other signatures of that long-ago moment, one can ‘see’ how America fits, relates, connects and is subsumed into the ongoing story of ancient Islam’s much longer development. What is even more startling is how both America and Islam share a common destiny, the insight provided by the North Node positions of each chart; the U.S. North Node at 6˚ Leo 34’, connecting to the Islamic-Era’s North Node at 6˚ Leo 22’. Here, in December 2010, we (the U.S. and Islam) find ourselves literally in each other’s arms – facing a shared destiny characterized by Fundamentalism.
The chart above shows Islamic–Era chart Ascendant numbers that closely connect to the FOOT and Activation Point of the U.S. Pluto Yod. The Islamic Cancer-sign Sun 25˚ Cancer 26’ rests upon that Pluto Yod’s Activation Point (around 27 Cancer). The Moon of the Islamic-Era chart 27 Leo 15’ is on the Activation Point of the U.S. Moon Yod - about 27˚ Leo.
It seems each is connected to the other’s vitals. Following C.E.O. Carter’s rule of Subsumption, adolescent American (233 years old) concerns must be read ‘within’ the domains of the more senior (1,387 year old) mother religion. In short, America is, to a great extent, a development in the evolving journey and destiny of Jewish, Christian, and Islam cultures. But, as young as she is, the U.S. has evolved to be that entity (Superpower) to which most cultures, nations, and religions of the world have had to adjust themselves. Ancient cultures have seen their populations flee to American shores; they’ve have had their values held up to U.S. metrics. In today’s world, America, near the peak of her power, finds herself in a position mirroring that of a fully empowered adult (the U.S.) relating with senior citizens (the older nations of the world) – facing all the role responsibilities that fitness and prime of life brings.
Enter now the Saudi Arabia foundation chart. (7) Saudi Arabia calls herself the Defender of the Faith (Islam). Within her domains are the sacred cities of Mecca and Medina; being so, Saudi Arabia holds a distinctive power position in the Muslim world. As would be expected she has horoscope ties both to Islam and the U.S.
Following the steps taken with the previous charts (America and Islam) we can isolate out the priority signatures, revealing the strongest possible connections to the previous charts.
Again we find connections to late degrees in Cancer/Capricorn (the chart’s important Ascendant/Descendant Axis). We also have the Sun at 24˚ Capricorn 05’, conjunct the Islamic Ascendant 25˚ Capricorn 41’, as well as, the U.S. Pluto Yod FOOT at 27˚ Capricorn 34’.
We now see that all of these charts (8), covering a span of almost 1,400 years, connect in significant ways with one another’s vital parts (represented through number). There remains another spectacular way of viewing and affirming these numerical relationships. Astrology charts can be converted into maps that tell their own unique, compelling story featuring place. Here below, as promised, is America’s Astro*Carto*Graphy® A*C*G* (9) map connection to the Middle East and Gulf nations.
Much is revealed by this map: the Sun line through Gaza/Israel, the North Node through eastern Iran, and America’s Uranus descending near Kabul and Islamabad. But, the most commanding signature visible through the region is the American Pluto 27˚ Capricorn 34’ bisecting the region on the Midheaven, directly overhead of the region in the sky during the American beginning moments.
Pluto traces completely along the 50˚ East longitude meridian. This tracing represents that place where the meaning of the American Pluto can most completely fulfill the maxim, “As Above, So Below!” Pluto corresponds with all expressions of absolute power – above and below ground. This Pluto Midheaven can represent a King, a Shah, even a Saddam Hussein. Pluto’s signatures are seen in the uncovering of ruins such as those of Nineveh, Persepolis, Babylon, or the existence of the world’s largest proven reserves of petroleum around Mosul and Kirkuk. Unfortunately, Pluto is also signature to destruction, even annihilation. (10) It connects to everything nuclear, having been discovered at the dawn of the Atomic Age. The destruction one witnesses through warfare (gigantic oil spills, oceans of black smoke in the air, destroyed infrastructure) fits this description of Pluto all too keenly.
At one time in 1991 the U.S. had half a million troops under arms on or near Saudi Arabian soil and the land (oil wells) burned everywhere. And consider the name given to U.S. activities in the Gulf – “The Great Satan”, “Desert Storm”, and “The Mother of All Battles”. It is the 4:47 p.m. time (just off the Sibly (11) selections of 4:50 and 5:10 p.m.) that marks specific spaces that have mannered for eight decades now; places like Kuwait. Since the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait (August 2, 2:00am, 1990) precipitated the outbreak of war, we need to consult the Kuwaiti chart. It is set by Campion for June 19, noon, 1961, Kuwait City. (12)
The Kuwaiti ‘Significant Moment’ does not disappoint; after having distilled out our important numbers - around 26˚ Leo/Aquarius and 27˚ Cancer/Capricorn, note that the Kuwaiti Saturn is in its sign of rulership – in late Capricorn. Kuwait is not a democracy – she has a king and Saturn corresponds to all types of leadership, including kings. America’s Pluto sits on that Saturn. The story of America’s rescue of the Kuwaiti Kingdom is full of plutonian intrigues and subplots – alleged stories of babies thrown out of Kuwaiti hospital incubators by Iraqi soldiers and the like.
The presence of “infidel’ soldiers on sacred Saudi Arabian soil was one of the reasons Saudi born Osama Bin Laden gave for his Jihad against the U.S. and for the 9/11 attack on U.S. soil. It came just as America experienced her first ever Progressed Sun to her 26˚ Aquarius 56’ Moon position (exact on October 25, 2001). (13) Recently, one authority suggested that ‘purity' (14) is what Pluto represents. Is the Gulf about a process of U.S. purification? Of course there are those who still ‘only’ see coincidences in the chart numbers and map place connections just presented. But consider this next chart and what it represents. Be sure to look carefully at the map finale.
It is common knowledge that the First Gulf War, Desert Storm, began on January 17, 1991. What is less well known is the astrological story. In the chart just presented, the Sun, Saturn, and North Node are part of an even greater gathering (stellium) of planets in Capricorn. The Sun, Saturn, and North Node are gathered quite close, between 26˚ – 28˚ Capricorn, embracing the U.S. Pluto position at 27˚ Capricorn 34’. Again, this was the moment proclaimed “The Mother of All Battles” by Saddam Hussein. In the moment the war began, the Sun position (recently crossed by the Moon on January 25th) corresponds to eclipsed power, Saturn to Governments, and the North Node – Destiny, for what has continued to play out in the Gulf for 19 years now (1991 – 2010) – the longest war in U.S. history. Saddam is gone.
This story, though, is about the 1991 Annular Eclipse (15) repeating itself again, at 25˚ Capricorn 01’. Will it synchronize some new beginning, as it did so dramatically in 1991, or will an ending event Significant Moment in the Gulf region be featured? As of today, December 27, 2009, Iran is the bigger focus – not Iraq, but skirmishes rage throughout the regions surrounding the Pluto Midheaven (50 E) – terror plots from Yemen and financial earthquakes in the United Arab Emirates.
The U.S. awaits Iran’s final acceptance or rejection of a deal regarding the generation of nuclear fuel. The places of this focus are Natanz and another site near the religious city of Qom. Both those cities and Teheran are within a hundred miles of the activating U.S. Pluto Midheaven. That’s 1 ½ ˚ of space or 6 minutes time from the measured longitude of the 4:47 p.m. chart. Through the media we see chaos in Iranian cities. This time, during the January 15, 2010 eclipse moment, Venus will be minutes from exactly conjunct the 25˚ Capricorn eclipse. Note also Neptune at 25˚ Aquarius 02’ with Jupiter at 29˚ Aquarius 23’ and pay particular attention to the fact that the Eclipse moment places Pluto on the Midheaven through the Gulf along 50˚ East - closely marking and synchronizing events out of Teheran in the approaches of what promises to be another historic eclipse on January 15, 2010.
Here is the finale – the A*C*G map of the eclipse moment on January 15, 10:42 a.m., IRT, 2010, from Teheran, Iran. The astrological lens shows an intense, exact focus to Teheran. Change in Iran will change the world.
The three lines, poised over Teheran, are formidable. Pluto 3˚ Capricorn 49’, plus Mercury 5˚ Capricorn 34’, hold court on the Midheaven, while closely squared by descending Saturn at 4˚ Libra 39’ retrograde. Could these signatures be ‘seen’ as the newly manifested power of ‘social networking’ (Pluto/Mercury = cell phones) versus the authorities and lawmakers (Saturn in Libra) in the “So Below!”? There are other lines worth noting, like the Uranus 23˚ Pisces 32’ line rising in the map through Iraq – splitting Mosul and Kirkuk. Is this Uranus a signature to the recent international bidding/feeding frenzy over Iraqi oil? Uranus corresponds to all breakdowns and breakthroughs. This is also the sky of the U.S. military withdrawal from Iraq- where no U.S. soldiers were killed in December 09. Or is this a portent of new uprising by the Kurds over control of the oil cities of the north? To the east, note the lines through Afghanistan; the North Node 21˚ Capricorn 05’ runs on the Midheaven 55 miles east of Kabul. This Annular Eclipse North Node is directly over Waziristan, along 70˚ East. In Pakistan, where the Eclipsed Sun 25˚ Capricorn 01’ is at the Midheaven, 60 miles east of Islamabad; great care must be exercised along this area as it is the India/Pakistani border (74˚ East). Will destiny (Christian America’s war on Islamic Terrorism) truly hinge upon outcomes in the Afghanistan/Pakistan border conflict?
This story in the Gulf will not end for many more years. It is but a chapter in the synergistic development of many Significant Moments, given that the different national charts are subsumed under the Christian and Islam Era moments. Transiting Pluto can be seen as slowly working significant changes in the face of these two Great Religions. Marked with the right numbers, Saudi Arabia, the U.S. and others perform limited roles. The simultaneous contacts they all face (numbers 26-27) should highlight the years 2020 – 2023 with emphasis. In route to these moments lunations and minor events will provide oxygen to a growing transformation.
