John Edwards Endorses Barack Obama in Grand Rapids Rally on May 14: John Edwards (born June 10, 1953) has come forward -- one day after a big win by Hillary Clinton in the West Virginia primary -- to endorse Barack Obama. A great speechmaker and with a lot of soul and passion, his support is a crucial ingredient in bringing the Democratic Party together after many months of back-and-forth Obama-Hillary battles. This event happens on the one day in 2008 when the Sun at 25 Taurus crosses over Vesta in Barack Obama's birthchart (August 4, 1961). 7.9 Earthquake Kills Thousands near Chengdu China on May 12, 2008: According to The New York Times, the quake occurred at 2:28pm local time. Although the chart I am offering at the end of this paragraph is for that time, once in awhile in these situations the timing is adjusted later on. Nevertheless, the real key here is that transiting Jupiter -- which just made a station on Friday and began several months of retrogade motion -- had just neared a precise return (22+ degrees of Capricorn) to its location in the birthchart for China (born October 1, 1949 at approximately 3:15PM in Beijing). Without any doubt, this is the major cosmic or astrological reason behind this major quake hitting now as Jupiter in the sky was only 1/4 of a degree from its natal placement. And Jupiter represents anything large-scale and massive. The Moon in Leo, right at its South Node and closely opposite Neptune, represents another alignment that connects with earthquake activity. Saturn in Virgo will be close to its second Saturn Return for China when they host the Summer Olympics -- beginning on August 8, 2008 (at 8:08PM local time). The Chinese are obsessed with the number 8. Note: On July 27, 1976, a devastating earthquake killed over 240,000 people -- centered in Tangshan, China. Gov. Spitzer Shocker Coincides with Major, Double Uranus Transit -- Dateline March 10, 2008: The key to this stunning news story -- from the astrological perspective -- is that Uranus at 18+ degrees of Pisces (a) made a precise 90-degree square to Gov. Eliot Spitzer's Sun at 18+ degree of Gemini and (b) simultaneously made a highly abrasive, 135-degree octile aspect to his Venus at 3+ degrees of Leo. In addition, the New York Governor was born with a nearly precise Sun-Venus frictional 45-degree connection. In his Secondary Progressed chart (in which each day after birth equals a year of life), the Progressed Sun at 5+ Leo is right on his natal Mars -- a once-in-a-lifetime solar hit. The planets involved in this sudden catastrophe for this high-rising political star in the Democratic Party are totally related to the alleged scandal involving prostitution. ChessMaster Bobby Fischer -- the Enfant Terrible of Modern Chess -- Died In Iceland, Jan. 17, 2008: In one of the more amazing synchronicities I have ever seen -- symbolizing someone's life work and passion, showing up at their passing -- Bobby Fisher (March 9, 1943) dies at age 64* EXACTLY at his Pallas Return (15 Pisces). Pallas is the principle of mental brilliance, strategy, inventiveness, and the fine art of SEEING PATTERNS THAT OTHER PEOPLE DON'T SEE. Note this quote from one of the great astrologers of the 20th century, Eleanor Bach: "Intelligence means being able to look ahead, realize the consequences of action, so Pallas is a strategist, more of a chess player than a warrior." [I have added bold and italics for the phrase "chess player."] Pallas comes back for every individual approximately every 4.5 years and Bobby Fischer had Pallas in a three-step return (May and August 2007, and the final now at his passing). Eleanor Bach also clearly proved in her research that Pallas is deeply connected with problem-solving, industry, efficiency and economics. When negative, Pallas can relate to economic problems -- which are precisely what is plaguing America and the world right now. Thus, in a very bizarre manner, Bobby Fischer passes from the world with one last poke and blast at the powers-that-be who have created a completely inefficient, non-intelligent economic system that is breaking down in disastrous fashion in early 2008.
None of this changes the fact that Bobby Fischer was a very strange man, filled with rage, and anti-semitic (despite his mother being Jewish). His mother hatred is revealed in his chart via Mars opposite Pluto with the Moon in Taurus exalted, but right at the Mars/Pluto midpoint. When he died, the Moon in Taurus was conjunct the most volatile star in the heavens -- Algol in the constellation of Perseus, an eclipsing-binary star system. Plus -- Mercury (mind power) was conjunct Chiron (maverick; outsider) and Vesta (recluse) in a triple union at the zodiacal power point of 15 Aquarius -- one of the four Gates of the Avatar as discussed by the eminent astrologer Dane Rudhyar.

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto Assassinated Today (Dec. 27, 2007): This occurs with the Moon in Leo -- EXACTLY crossing her natal Pluto (extremes; the underworld; secrets and mysteries; death and rebirth) and Pakistan's natal Sun (core power; heart center; enlightenment). [Please see just below a paragraph on the meaning of her life and some birthchart observations -- plus, a short feature two paragraphs below that I wrote awhile back about Pakistan on the Edge -- that also contains the main chart of Pakistan.]
Benazir Bhutto was born on June 21, 1953 in Karachi (time unknown). Her Solar Chart -- calculated for Noon, but placing the Sun on the Ascendant -- is given below as a clickable weblink. With Mars retrograding in the sky now in Cancer -- having just returned to her natal Mars -- the red planet of war and bloodshed was also transiting on top of her natal Sun-Mars midpoint. An eloquent voice for freedom and understanding in this beleaguered part of the world, she was educated at Harvard and Oxford. Note her triple conjunction of Juno-Pallas-Jupiter in outspoken and mentally-active Gemini (conjunct America's Uranus). Her Moon-Saturn union in Libra (justice and karma) also united her with America (born with Saturn in Libra). Her natal Mars in Cancer was conjunct the USA Venus-Jupiter conjunction and her stationary Saturn in Libra was precisely on America's Juno (representing empowerment and, especially, liberation for women). It is also very significant that her natal Mercury was exactly at the same degree of the zodiac as America's natal Mercury. Hence, her being educated here at Harvard and her frequent interviews in our media over the last two decades. Her father was also Prime Minister of Pakistan back in the 1970s and he was removed from office (via a military takeover) and eventually hung by a former military dictator of Pakistan (who led the coup against him). She was killed by a suicide bomber on the day of the first Venus-Pluto parallel in the sky (similar to a conjunction in the zodiac) since January 18, 2007. She was born on the day of a flowing Sun-Vesta trine from the end of Gemini to the end of Aquarius. This made her a potent, world-wide standard-bearer of the spirit of sisterhood, the Ageless Wisdom teachings, and the Eternal Flame (representing the life principle of towns, cities and nation-states). She died with the transiting South Node of the Moon (fate and destiny principle) almost exactly crossing her Vesta. Her death is likely to set off much more violence in Pakistan in the weeks and months ahead as this country is in the grip of the second of three Mars Returns (with the third one due between March 4 and 7, 2008). Pakistan on the Edge: At the close of this paragraph is a clickable web-link for the chart revealing the Independence of Pakistan on Aug. 15, 1947, Midnight, Karachi. Although Pakistan became a Republic on March 23, 1956 at approximately 7:05AM in Karachi, the Independence horoscope (which is very similar to the Independence of India chart -- since they were separated at the same time) seems to be the stronger astro-reality. Extremist and deeply transformative Pluto at the end of Sagittarius is now making an abrasive and highly disturbing 135-degree link to the potent Saturn-Pluto union at 13+ degrees Leo when Pakistan became independent. This has been happening several times during 2007, but will reach exactitude again in December. This will repeat next summer and fall for the final time. In the meantime, Pluto at 27+ Sagittarius just made a precise and yet awkward 150-degree alignment to the Independence of Pakistan natal Moon at 27+ Cancer. Hence, we are witnessing the uprisings within the populace, the crackdown by President Musharraf (who also heads the Armed Forces), and the fears of a possible Islamic takeover. Transiting Neptune in Aquarius is also exactly square to Pakistan's Jupiter in Scorpio -- a cycle that has been occurring on and off for the last 18 months. This brings in a sense of dissolution and disappearance of order and political-social structure. In addition, Neptune has also been opposing the Pakistan Sun at 21+ degrees of Leo for the first time ever in 2007. The last precise hit will happen in January-February 2008. Neptune in Aquarius will be opposing Jupiter in Leo in the Republic of Pakistan horoscope twice in 2008 and continuing into January 2009. Pervez Musharraf was born -- probably -- on Aug. 11, 1943, but this is not confirmed 100% as I have seen one reference to August 1 of the same year. California Birthchart Reveals Extreme/Catastrophic Fires: The fierce Santa Ana winds in Southern California often cause severe fires at this time of the year, but what is happening now (since the weekend of Oct. 20 - 21, and continuing now this week) is a giant (Jupiter) Disaster (Uranus-Pluto). And when California entered the Union on Sept. 9, 1850 (see color chart to click on at the end of this overall section) Jupiter at 30 Virgo was exactly in an awkward, off-kilter 150-degree link to a rare conjunction of Uranus and Pluto at 30 Aries.
The Sun has just made its annual polarity to that Uranus-Neptune union and Mercury (ruling winds) has done the same -- in the last 24 hours. During the last few days, the transiting Moon has been sweeping over California's South Node (fateful events), Neptune (confusion and chaos; disappearance of land, property and people), and now -- in the next two days -- the Moon will cross over Ceres (Mother Nature), Saturn (loss of money; frustrations; fears), Pluto (underworld forces; fiery, hellish conditions), and Uranus (shocks; surprises; the unexpected), all in fiery Aries.
Today (Oct. 23) as the news media was saturated with this horrifying story -- in which nearly 1 million people have been displaced and are fleeing the fiery carnage -- the Sun moved into an abrasive, 135-degree link to Uranus -- the same sky pattern they formed when California entered the Union. Jupiter (BIG events that are not necessarily favorable) has been approaching Pluto all year in fiery Sagittarius, and they will finally merge together on December 11 -- their first union in 13 years. This conjunction will closely trine California's Uranus-Pluto union, but also exactly square California's Jupiter. By then, the damage will already be done.
In the meantime, Mars (traditional ruler of FIRE -- in addition to the Sun) -- slowing down as it nears its retrograde station on Nov. 15 at 13 Cancer (conjunct the USA Sun) -- is about to square its own placement at 12 Libra in the hard-to-decipher, mysterious twelfth house of California's birthmap. The exact Mars square to California's Mars happens during the first and last weeks of November, but -- right now -- the approach is too close for comfort and, undoubtedly, another major reason why this situation is still out of hand.
To make matters worse, transiting Uranus has been in opposition to California's Virgo Sun all of 2007 (for the first time in 84 years) while Jupiter just squared California's Sun for the third time this year only a week ago. All of this represents a terrifying example of dynamic astrology in action.
When any chart is lambasted like this, something's got to give. O.J. Back in Jail in Nevada for Attempted Burglary Regarding his Sports Memorabilia: The incident occurred on Thursday evening Sept. 13 in Las Vegas. We had numerous articles on the first O.J. Simpson case back in 1994-1955 in our printed Welcome to Planet Earth astrology magazine. I have created a link at the close of this paragraph so you can see a color chart for O.J. Simpson -- in order to follow the new case in the coming months. Note that he was born with Mercury retrograde and exactly conjunct America's Mercury from July 4, 1776. In addition, when the murders of his ex-wife (Nicole Brown) and Ron Goldman took place on June 12, 1994, Mercury was stationary and turning retrograde. When he was acquitted of murder charges on Oct. 3, 1995, Mercury was located at 12+ degrees of Libra -- the exact placement of Mercury in the zodiac on Thursday Sept. 13 (during the latest incident bringing in the police). Mercury (planet of too much talk, theft, trickery and chameleon-like behavior -- when negative) is a major planet to watch regarding O.J. Simpson. Bridge Disaster in Minneapolis 1 hour ago, Aug. 1: Click on the link at the bottom of this paragraph to view the color chart of this horrendous event. Amazingly, Pluto (key planet of extremes and terror) is almost precisely rising, but Mars in Taurus and Saturn in Leo form 150-degree and 120-degree alignments with that rising Pluto and Ascendant. This creates a mysterious Pythagorean Triangle -- composed of a 90-degree square (Mars to Saturn), 120-degree trine (Saturn to Pluto), and 150-degree inconjunct (Mars to Pluto). You will see in the chart that the Sun and Saturn are in the eighth house -- traditionally associated with death, mysteries, secrets and the unknown. Note the presence of a triple conjunction of the Moon in Pisces (water sign -- the bridge is over the Mississippi River!), Pallas and Uranus (planet of shocks). Pallas equates with engineering! The Moon-Pallas union is within 1 minute of exactitude. In addition to all this, the Galactic Center -- 27 Sagittarius -- is the rising degree area and Pluto has been crisscrossing this place in the zodiac on and off throughout 2007 for the first time in 248 years.
